Biography

Jim Dobbie is a member of the CEAS board of management that provides risk advice and insurance to about 350 NZ consulting engineering firms. He is a director of Dobbie Engineers who are consulting mechanical engineers with 18 staff in offices in Auckland and Rotorua. They design pressure piping, pressure vessels, tanks, cranes, conveyors for dairy factories, pulp and paper mills and geothermal plants. Jim is regularly engaged as an expert witness.

Hayden Cate is also on the CEAS board of management and on the sub-committee that reviews the claims made by consulting engineers. He is a structural engineer and managing partner of Brown & Thomson Consulting Engineers in Auckland.
