Site visit to the $27M Marine Events Centre under construction on the Halsey St Wharf. Designed by Holmes Consulting Group and built by Hawkins Construction, notable features of the project included: 6000 m2 multi-purpose facility offering flexible exhibition, meeting and hospitality space; Barrel vault roof spanning 32m in the east/west axis, with 4m sections at each end held down by cigar shaped columns on the outer edge; Precast double tee floor system supported on structural steel moment resisting frames.
